Hello interpreters!

My name is Luis, and I’m the creator of this website. I’ve been working as an interpreter for over four years, and when I’m not interpreting, I enjoy programming tools that make life easier for both myself and other interpreters.

That’s exactly why I built this website: to help interpreters navigate difficult terminology they may face on the job.

This blog section will keep you informed with updates about the site, as well as share practical tips you can use on your interpreting journey. For this very first post, I’d like to highlight a few features so you can get the most out of this tool.

🔎 Flexible Search Options

At the top of every page, you’ll see the search bar with a Match Type dropdown:

  • Exact Match – Finds the exact term you typed.
  • Starts With – Use this when you only know the beginning of a word.
  • Contains – Helpful if you only have part of the word or its ending.

👉 Example: If you hear tachycardia during a session, you can type tach and select Starts With to quickly find the full term.

🗣️ Pronunciation Support

Medical terminology can be tricky to pronounce. That’s why this tool includes text-to-speech audio for over 27,000 medical terms and nearly 1,300 pharmaceuticals.

Just click on a search result to go to its details page, where you’ll find:

  • The English and Spanish terms
  • Audio pronunciation to help you feel confident on the spot

⭐ Save Your Favorites

You can bookmark important words as “favorites” for easy access later. Best of all, your saved words remain available even after closing your browser — so your personal mini-glossary is always ready.

Closing Thoughts

I know firsthand how stressful it can be to stumble on an unfamiliar word during an interpreting session. My hope is that this tool gives you confidence, saves you time, and helps you focus on what really matters: connecting people through communication.
