🌐 InterpAscend v2.1 — You spoke, we listened!
Hey InterpAscenders,
I’m excited to share that InterpAscend version 2.1 is now live! This update focuses on improving clarity, usability, and learning efficiency — all based on your feedback and bug reports from our amazing community (including those of you who helped spot issues on Reddit 🙌).
Here’s what’s new and improved in this version:
🎈 Improved Legibility
One of the first things I tackled was legibility. The balloon colors and text contrast have been adjusted to make everything easier on the eyes — especially during long study sessions or when browsing on mobile. The goal was to maintain that clean aesthetic while improving readability across all devices.
🧠 Smarter Flashcard Algorithm
The flashcard system just got a major brain boost.
Cards marked as “Hard,” “Good,” or “Again” are now shown with more balanced frequency based on your learning progress.
This means you’ll see tricky terms resurface more strategically, helping reinforce what really matters instead of showing everything at random. It’s a subtle change, but one that can make a big difference in your long-term recall.
🩺 Fixed Specialty Abbreviation Accuracy
Some of you caught small inconsistencies in the way certain medical specialty abbreviations (like ENT and GI) were being interpreted. These have now been corrected, along with a few similar cases across other specialties. Thanks to everyone who helped flag those — your precision makes this tool better for everyone.
📚 Favorite Words — Now With a Pop-Out Option!
You now have the option to pop out your Favorite Words bar into a separate floating window.
Just click the blue pop-out icon next to the “Clear” button and you’ll be able to view your saved terms side-by-side while you continue searching or studying. It’s a small tweak that gives you more flexibility in how you use the tool.
💬 A Note of Thanks
I want to thank everyone who’s taken the time to test features, report bugs, or send encouraging messages. Your input keeps InterpAscend evolving in the right direction.
Special appreciation goes out to the interpreter community on Reddit who shared detailed feedback and helped catch those abbreviation issues early on — you rock.
If you’d like to share more feedback or feature suggestions, you can reach me anytime through the site’s contact form.
This update may look simple on the surface, but it lays the groundwork for upcoming improvements in translation accuracy, interface customization, and mobile performance. Stay tuned — and as always, thank you for helping InterpAscend grow.
Warm regards,
-Luis
